Amherst's Fall 2010 Town Meeting concluded on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, after deliberating for two nights. For the fourth consecutive time, this session of Town Meeting produced a single tally vote, but it was a big one. Article 8, Development Modification, would have created a new section of the Zoning Bylaw to replace the expiring Phased Growth bylaw. After over two hours of debate, the article was defeated by a vote of 96 YES, 62 NO (changes to the zoning bylaw require a 2/3 majority to pass).
